Infrastructure maintenance causes transport closures in Prague and Slovakia
Major transportation disruptions are scheduled in Prague and near Žilina due to infrastructure maintenance and reconstruction.
In Prague, Nádražní street will be closed between U železničního mostu and Nádražní 308/66 from the evening of October 2 until the morning of October 19. This closure is necessary for the installation of a steel railway bridge structure. The works will impact tram services between Na Knížecí and Smíchovské nádraží from October 3 to October 18, affecting several lines including 5, 12, 15, 20, and 21. Replacement bus services (X12 and X90) and alternative tram lines (32 and 40) will be implemented to assist commuters.
In Slovakia, the Višňové Tunnel on the D1 highway near Žilina will undergo autumn maintenance. The National Highway Company (NDS) has scheduled a series of nighttime closures in both directions from late September through October 11. Notably, a continuous daytime closure is planned from 7:00 on October 25 until 12:00 on October 28. Maintenance includes servicing safety and control systems, as well as cleaning the drainage system.
