Global municipalities implement water and infrastructure maintenance

Municipalities and environmental agencies across several regions are conducting extensive public works to manage water infrastructure and mitigate environmental risks.

In Mexico, CONAGUA is investing in hydraulic infrastructure in San Juan del Río and rehabilitating three dams in Querétaro. In San Nicolás, a new storm drain system has been completed to prevent flooding on Avenida Universidad. Additionally, cleaning efforts are underway in Alfajayucan to prevent foam buildup in local rivers.

In Spain, Torremolinos has launched a preventive cleaning plan for its streams to prepare for autumn rains. In the Dominican Republic, INDESUR is using heavy equipment to clean and improve the Río Chil sector in Barahona.

In South America, the Intendencia de Montevideo and Canelones are working on the renaturalization of the Carrasco stream through native plant restoration. In Chile, the Asociación de Canalistas del Canal Bío-Bío Sur is performing maintenance on its canal network to improve water distribution efficiency and prevent leaks. Meanwhile, in the Antofagasta region, health authorities are addressing an unusual increase in flies in Taltal and Tocopilla caused by recent moisture and heat.
