Infrastructure projects advance in Honduras and Costa Rica

In Honduras, the government has advanced the bidding process for the paving of 41 kilometers of road in the municipality of Nahuaterique, La Paz department. The project consists of two stages: a 31-kilometer stretch from Marcala to Sabaneta and a 10-kilometer section from Sabaneta to Nahuaterique. The initiative aims to improve connectivity and economic development for several communities, including Cabañas, Sabaneta, Yarula, Palo Blanco, and Santa Elena. Bids are currently being sent to Tegucigalpa for technical and financial evaluation, with an expected adjudication within eight to fifteen days.

In Costa Rica, the National Road Council (Conavi) has launched a bidding process for pre-feasibility studies regarding the construction of a tunnel in San Pedro de Montes de Oca. The project, estimated to cost ¢3,867 million, is intended to connect Avenida 10 with San Pedro, allowing vehicles to bypass the Hispanidad roundabout. If timelines are met, the work is projected for completion in 2029. The current tender for the studies is valued at ¢201 million, with technical evaluations expected to conclude by late September.
