Overview

The Honduran government, under President Nasry Asfura, launched a $178 million municipal machinery program to decentralize infrastructure development and road maintenance. The initiative aims to provide 2,100 pieces of heavy equipment to the country’s 298 municipalities. Furthering regional road development, the government has advanced the bidding process for paving 41 kilometers of road in the municipality of Nahuaterique, La Paz department. This project is divided into two stages: a 31-kilometer stretch from Marcala to Sabaneta and a 10-kilometer section from Sabaneta to Nahuaterique.

In Tegucigalpa, the Juan Manuel Gálvez Bridge has reached 65% physical progress. The installation of the first section of pre-slabs has begun, a method intended to “accelerate work and minimize traffic disruptions on the Anillo Periférico.” This bridge serves as a vital connection to tourist destinations such as Valle de Ángeles and Santa Lucía.
