Infrastructure projects advance in Nicaragua and Guatemala

Infrastructure developments are progressing in Managua and Guatemala City. In Nicaragua, the Nejapa underpass, located at kilometer 9.5 of the Carretera Sur, is expected to be inaugurated on December 30. The project currently shows 55% overall progress, including a 125-meter bridge and a 520-meter access ramp. Once completed, the underpass is estimated to handle approximately 50,000 vehicles per day.

In Guatemala, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) has announced a new bidding process to complete the Petapa underpass at Avenida Petapa and 53rd Street. The project was previously suspended after reaching 40.49% completion due to issues involving the original contractor, CEBCO. Following a ruling by the Constitutional Court to reactivate the project, the CIV is now structuring a new tender to finalize the construction.
