Infrastructure projects aim to boost logistics in eastern Ho Chi Minh City

Several major transportation projects are underway to enhance the logistics network in eastern Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding regions. The Long Son-Cai Mep road, a 4km project with an investment of nearly 1,200 billion VND, is expected to open in September 2026. This route will provide a direct connection between the Long Son petrochemical and industrial zone and the Cai Mep-Thi Vai deep-water port complex.

Additionally, the Phuoc An Bridge is currently under construction across the Thi Vai River, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai province. With an investment of approximately 4,900 billion VND, the 4.4km bridge is reportedly ahead of schedule by seven to eight months. Once completed, the bridge will allow goods traveling from the Mekong Delta to reach the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port via the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway, reducing transport distances by approximately 30km.

Other supporting projects, including road 991B and connections to the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway, are slated for completion between this year and 2027 to further integrate the regional transport corridor.
