Infrastructure projects announced in San Juan del Río and Beniparrell
In San Juan del Río, the municipal government has announced plans to rehabilitate a secondary school in the Tunamanza community. Following inspections by Civil Protection and Public Works, officials determined that a damaged classroom slab must be completely demolished and replaced with a new structure. The municipality will manage the entire project after coordinating with CONAFE in Querétaro, which lacks the necessary funds for the undertaking.
The reconstruction is expected to take approximately one and a half months, though resource management may extend the timeline to two months. Consequently, students will not return to the classrooms by the scheduled date of next Monday.
In Spain, the Generalitat Valenciana is launching a 17-million-euro flood prevention project in Beniparrell. The works involve widening a ravine and demolishing two bridges that acted as barriers during the 2020 and 2024 floods. The 30-month project aims to prevent future overflows in the Vereda Sur industrial park, where water levels previously reached 3.5 meters. This initiative is part of a larger 45-million-euro regional plan covering 28 municipalities.
