Infrastructure projects cause traffic disruptions in Benešov and Plzeň

Major roadwork and utility reconstructions are causing significant traffic disruptions in Benešov and Plzeň.

In Benešov, various street repairs are underway. Work on the gas pipeline in Jiřího Franka street is nearing completion, with asphalt surfacing expected soon. Scheinerova street is being reconstructed to connect K. Nového with Dukelská to serve new housing developments, with a target completion date by the end of November. However, utility repairs in Husova street and complications with sewage connections in Na Bezděkova are causing delays. Additionally, long-term modifications in the Červené Vršky zone, including replacing speed cushions with paving to calm traffic, are scheduled to continue through June 2027.

In Plzeň, the reconstruction of Masarykova street has entered a new phase, resulting in the total closure of the intersection at Masarykova, Těšínská, and Na Dlouhých streets. This closure is expected to last until mid-December. The project, which began in June, has moved from utility upgrades to repairing the roadway, sidewalks, and parking bays, as well as constructing a new two-way cycle path. Drivers must use detours via Hřbitovní, Mohylová, Chrástecká, Jateční, and Rokycanská streets, while public transport lines will be diverted via V Malé Doubravce.
