Infrastructure projects launched for security and emergency services in Togo and Mayotte
In Togo, rehabilitation work has begun on the former central police station in Sokodé. Launched by the Mayor of Tchaoudjo 1, Ouro-Sama Mohamed Sad, the project aims to restore the facility which had been abandoned following vandalism during socio-political events between 2016 and 2017. The two-month project, overseen by the Ministry of Security, includes constructing new buildings for national documentation and traffic accident services, upgrading electrical and plumbing systems, and improving detention cells.
In Mayotte, an agreement has been signed for the construction of a new fire station in Tsimkoura, Chirongui. The project, costing approximately 9 million euros, is expected to be operational by 2028. The new facility is intended to improve training conditions and intervention times for the 11 professional and volunteer firefighters stationed there. Additionally, the Chirongui station has received a new 600,000 euro multipurpose rural tanker truck to assist with urban fires, bushfires, and road accidents.
