Infrastructure updates announced for Galleria Dom and Sentiero Valtellina

The Autonomous Province of Trento has announced a reduction in the scheduled night closures for the Galleria Dom on the SS 240, located between Loppio and Val di Ledro. Originally planned for five months, the closures will now last six weeks. Initial traffic restrictions are set for November 10 and 11, running from 21:30 to 06:00 the following morning. The project, managed by Geobau Srl with a 4.1 million euro investment, involves preliminary operations with a completion date set for November 16. A second phase involving stainless steel mesh installation will utilize a mobile structure allowing alternating one-way traffic. Further consolidation work involving 600 tie rods is scheduled to begin in January 2027.

Separately, the Sentiero Valtellina cycle-pedestrian path will undergo a seasonal closure. According to provincial regulations, the entire 114 km route from Colico to Bormio will be closed to public transit from November 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. The path, which follows the Adda River, is intended for soft mobility and will reopen on March 1, 2027.
