Italian infrastructure maintenance and closures

Various infrastructure projects and seasonal closures are scheduled across different regions of Italy.

In Reggio Calabria, the Galleria della Limina on the Ionio-Tirreno road will undergo nighttime closures starting in November 2026 to implement self-rescue safety measures. These works, scheduled between 22:00 and 05:00, include a suspension from mid-December to mid-January. Traffic will be diverted via the SP5 della Limina mountain route, though heavy vehicles will be excluded from this diversion. Anas has committed to maintaining the SP5 route to support these operations.

In the Autonomous Province of Trento, the scheduled night closures for the Galleria Dom on the SS 240 have been reduced from five months to six weeks. This 4.1 million euro project involves preliminary operations in November 2026, followed by stainless steel mesh installation and consolidation work using tie rods scheduled for January 2027. Additionally, the 114 km Sentiero Valtellina cycle-pedestrian path will undergo a seasonal closure from November 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027.
