S8 expressway repairs to address 108 cracked concrete slabs

Repairs are scheduled to begin on the S8 expressway in Poland, specifically on the section between the Poręba junction and the beginning of the Ostrowiec Mazowiecka bypass, starting Monday, September 21, 2026.

Routine inspections by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) identified 108 cracked concrete slabs on the roadway heading toward Białystok. The contractor, PORR, will carry out the repairs at its own expense under the terms of the existing warranty.

During the maintenance period, drivers will face significant disruptions, including lane narrowing to a single lane and a temporary speed limit reduction to 80 km/h. The work will be conducted in stages, with the first phase expected to conclude by the end of October 2026. Further repairs to the left lane are planned for spring 2027.
