Infrastructure and roadwork updates across Belgium and the Netherlands
Various regions in Belgium and the Netherlands are undergoing significant infrastructure projects, including road closures, sewage upgrades, and landscaping.
In Belgium, Sint-Lievens-Houtem is implementing extensive traffic and parking restrictions for the annual Houtem Jaarmarkt. Other local works include road resurfacing in Sint-Kruis, sewage and path improvements in Houthulststraat, and various utility works in Mechelen and Zemst-Laar. Additionally, the Flemish Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV) announced planned tree felling along Flemish roads and waterways to ensure traffic safety.
In the Netherlands, major projects include the renovation of the Heemraadssingel in Rotterdam, involving sewage system updates and green space improvements. The N562 provincial road between Roggel and Helden is scheduled for a multi-phase closure, and the municipality of Ridderkerk has launched a spatial development program for the P.C. Hooftstraat area. Other localized updates include roadwork on the A15 near Vlaardingen and the conversion of Postweg into a bicycle street.
