Inönü University completes AI literacy academy for teachers

Inönü University has completed the ‘Future of Education: AI Literate Teacher Academy’ program in Malatya. Organized under the TÜBİTAK 4005 Innovative Education Practices Support Program, the initiative aimed to equip educators with essential artificial intelligence skills.

Thirty teachers from 16 different provinces across Turkey, specializing in mathematics, science, physics, chemistry, and biology, participated in the four-day program. Led by Professor İsmail Şan, the academy utilized application, activity, and game-based training to teach the dynamics of AI. The curriculum covered AI use cases in education, prompt engineering, agent creation, and the philosophical and legal dimensions of the technology.

Through eight distinct workshops, participants learned how to integrate AI tools into classroom settings effectively. During the closing ceremony, Vice Rector Professor Mehmet Sağlam emphasized the importance of translating academic knowledge into societal benefits, noting that the project addresses the gap between university research and practical application by teachers in the field.
