Innovation Workshop held in Western Greece to develop regional capabilities

An Innovation Workshop was held in the Western Greece Region on October 20, 2026, to enhance the human resource capabilities of regional officials. Conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the National Centre for Public Administration, the event focused on the STEP Regulation and the evolution of Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3/S3).

Using design thinking and reverse engineering methodologies, participants addressed challenges related to the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP) and the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process (EDP). The workshop resulted in the development of a prototype Innovation Capability and Skills Self-Assessment Tool.

The event included representatives from the Ministries of Interior and National Economy and Finance, as well as regional stakeholders from Peloponnese, North Aegean, and Epirus, alongside technology transfer units from the University of Patras.
