INPS implements pension deductions and disability assistance rules

The Italian Social Security Institute (INPS) is implementing specific measures regarding pension payments and disability assistance for 2026.

Certain pensioners receiving income-linked benefits face a 5% reduction in their September 2026 payments. This deduction applies to individuals who failed to communicate their 2022 income data via the Red model, despite receiving reminders. The 5% deduction is calculated based on the gross pension amount received in July 2026. Failure to regularize this information by September 15, 2026, could lead to the total revocation of benefits and the recovery of undue sums.

Additionally, INPS provides monthly assistance payments for individuals with a certified civil disability between 74% and 99%. For 2026, this assistance is set at approximately 340 euros per month for 13 installments, provided the recipient meets specific annual income limits, which are set at 5,852.21 euros.
