Italy social welfare updates: INPS deadlines and benefit distributions

Italy is implementing several social welfare measures and administrative deadlines for September 2026.

Pensioners must communicate their 2022 income to INPS by September 15 to avoid the revocation of benefits such as survivor pensions, minimum integrations, and social increases. Failure to comply may result in a 5% deduction or the total loss of subsidies. Additionally, tax refunds for those who filed the 730 form are being processed, with payment timing depending on when the Agenzia delle Entrate transmits data to INPS.

For families, the 'Carta Dedicata a Te' will provide 500 euros to approximately 1.17 million households with an ISEE below 15,000 euros for essential goods. The 'Assegno Unico Universale' for families with children will also be credited at the end of September, with amounts varying based on ISEE and family composition.

In the Piedmont region, the 'Buono Domiciliarità' offers 700 euros per month for home care services for non-self-sufficient seniors or people with disabilities, provided they meet specific ISEE and social score requirements. Furthermore, automatic social bonuses for electricity, gas, and water remain available to households meeting ISEE thresholds.
