INS Sudarshini departs Italy after maritime partnership port call

The Indian Navy’s sail training ship, INS Sudarshini, departed from Livorno, Italy, on September 12 following a successful port call. The visit was intended to strengthen maritime partnerships and friendship between India and Italy, aligning with the MAHASAGAR vision.

During the stay, the ship engaged in professional interactions and cross-training visits. Admiral Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto, Chief of the Italian Navy, visited the vessel to interact with the crew and cadets and receive briefings on the ship’s voyage and training activities. Additionally, the Indian Ambassador to Italy, Vani Rao, attended an onboard reception and met with officers and sailors to highlight strategic convergences and maritime security cooperation between the two nations.

Commander Ravikanth Nandoori, the Commanding Officer of INS Sudarshini, also met with Rear Admiral Alberto Tarabotto, Commandant of the Italian Naval Academy, to exchange experiences regarding the ongoing deployment.
