INSS provides digital tools for social security and retirement planning in Brazil

Social security processes in Brazil involve legal steps to request, analyze, and grant social benefits to workers, including retirees and those incapacitated by illness or accidents. These procedures can be conducted administratively through the National Social Security Institute (INSS) or via judicial action in Federal Court.

To facilitate retirement planning, the INSS provides a free digital simulator through the ‘Meu INSS’ portal and application. This tool uses data from the National Social Information Registry (CNIS) to cross-reference a worker's employment history and contributions. The simulator allows users to project different retirement scenarios, including age-based retirement, point-based systems, and various transition rules, such as 50% or 100% toll requirements.

While the digital tool offers estimates based on current legislative rules and projected national floors and ceilings, it does not replace an official request or guarantee the automatic granting of benefits.
