Inter Milan prepares contract extension for Hakan Calhanoglu
Inter Milan is preparing to offer a contract extension to midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to secure his future with the club. The Turkish international is currently entering the final year of his contract, which expires on June 30. To prevent the player from being able to negotiate with other clubs for a free transfer starting in February, the club has designated his renewal as a high priority.
Inter's sporting director, Dario Baccin, has already initiated informal discussions with the player's representatives and is expected to hold a direct meeting in the coming weeks. The club is considering two primary options for the new deal: a one-year contract with an option for an additional year, or a fixed two-year extension.
While the club aims to retain the midfielder, the new financial terms are expected to be adjusted. Due to the player's age and recent injury history, Inter reportedly intends to offer a reduced salary compared to his current net income of 6.5 million euros per season.
