INTERAPAS repairs major leak but water supply disruptions continue in Mexico

INTERAPAS repaired a 6‑inch water main at the intersection of Calle Hércules and Avenida Mariano Jiménez in the Balcones del Valle neighborhood of San Luis Potosí, stopping a persistent leak and restoring service. The agency also addressed additional domestic leaks in nearby colonies and issued notices for users to renew installations.

In Soledad, the INTERAPAS well at El Polvorín failed again after only 15 days of operation, leaving thousands of families without tap water. The pump must be repaired in Monterrey, and residents have been forced to rely on tanker deliveries costing up to 400 pesos per load. Local deputy Fernando Gámez Macías criticized the agency’s low operational efficiency and called for an investigation and possible tariff adjustments for the affected colonies.
