InterEnergy Group proposes electric freight transport in Dominican Republic
Rolando González Bunster, president and founder of InterEnergy Group, has proposed accelerating the electrification of freight transport in the Dominican Republic. Speaking at Evergo Fest 2026, he highlighted the need to expand charging infrastructure for trucks and buses to mitigate the impact of volatile international oil prices on the national economy.
González Bunster noted that rising petroleum costs significantly affect national finances and productive activities. He asserted that electric transport could be eight times cheaper than gasoline-powered alternatives, offering a way for companies to reduce operational expenses and decrease dependence on imported fuels.
