International anti‑human‑trafficking operation arrests over 1,000, includes Moldovan victims

Authorities from Austria and Romania, together with Interpol, Europol, Frontex and Ameripol, carried out a large‑scale operation against human‑trafficking networks. More than 1,000 people were detained and 2,070 victims were identified, among them citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

The coordinated raids targeted multiple locations across Europe, aiming to dismantle trafficking routes and provide assistance to the rescued individuals. Moldovan officials confirmed that several of their nationals were among those rescued, highlighting the cross‑border nature of the crime.

Law enforcement agencies said the operation will lead to further investigations and prosecutions of the criminal networks involved.
