International arts festivals announce upcoming editions in Mexico and Bolivia

Major international arts festivals are preparing for upcoming editions. The 54th Festival Internacional Cervantino will feature representatives from 20 Mexican states through 35 activities including music, dance, theater, and cinema-opera. As the host, Guanajuato will feature 1,684 artists and 23 presentations, including four co-productions.

In Bolivia, the 15th Festival Internacional de Teatro de La Paz (FITAZ) is scheduled from August 30 to September 7. The event will host troupes from seven countries—Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, France, and Switzerland—alongside national companies. The festival will feature over 30 works and more than 100 artists. This edition will include a posthumous tribute to creator Maritza Wilde through the presentation of the Kusillo Prize.
