International Cooperative Alliance elects new Global Board in Panama

The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) has elected its new Global Board for the 2026-2030 mandate during the 2026 General Assembly held at the Panama Convention Center in Panama City. Ariel Guarco was re-elected unopposed as President.

In addition to the presidency, 15 At-large Directors were elected from a pool of 24 candidates. The new board includes representatives from various nations, such as Brazil, Italy, the United States, Paraguay, the United Kingdom, and Spain. The assembly brought together 116 voters representing 193 members from 66 countries.

The event coincided with the International Cooperative Banking Association (ICBA) General Assembly. Koopbank participated in these proceedings, represented by Chairman Haluk Yerli, General Manager Kemal Ataman, and Deputy General Manager Öztan Güröz. Kemal Ataman, serving as an ICBA Board member, participated in discussions regarding the international cooperative banking agenda.
