International Cooperative Alliance board elections

Overview

The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) held its 2026 General Assembly at the Panama Convention Center to elect its Global Board for the 2026–2030 mandate. During the assembly, Ariel Guarco was re-elected unopposed as President.

The election process included 15 At-large Directors chosen from 24 candidates, representing various nations including Brazil, Italy, the United States, Paraguay, the United Kingdom, and Spain. The proceedings involved 116 voters representing 193 members from 66 countries.

Among the elected officials, Attilio Dadda, President of Legacoop Lombardia, was re-elected to the global Board. Dadda received 494 votes, ranking as the fourth most-voted candidate globally and the first in Europe. His second mandate is expected to address the role of cooperatives in conflict zones, climate crisis reconstruction, and the promotion of a social economy to reduce inequality.

The assembly coincided with the International Cooperative Banking Association (ICBA) General Assembly, where representatives discussed the international cooperative banking agenda.
