International Energy and Environment Conference to focus on hydrogen in Ostravice

The 29th International Energy and Environment Conference (IEEC) is scheduled to take place in Ostravice from September 7–9, 2026. The event will bring together scientists, experts, and industry representatives from Europe and Asia to discuss technologies critical to the future of energy.

Key themes for this year include hydrogen, long-term energy storage, new materials, fuel cells, artificial intelligence, the circular economy, and low-carbon industry. Discussions will focus on enhancing energy security and reducing fossil fuel dependency while maintaining industrial competitiveness.

Featured topics include the role of hydrogen in energy transformation, with presentations from ČEZ regarding hydrogen technology readiness and practical application. Other sessions will cover hydrogen production, electrolyzers, and research infrastructure for decarbonizing energy systems. Additionally, Professor Wei-Hsin Chen from National Cheng Kung University will present new approaches to low-temperature biochar production and its role in the circular economy.
