INTERPOL President Lucas Philippe visits Cameroon to bolster security cooperation
INTERPOL President Lucas Philippe is conducting a working visit to Cameroon from October 18 to 21, 2026. This marks his first visit to Africa since his election in November 2025.
During his stay in Yaoundé, Philippe met with Minister of State Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh at the Unity Palace on behalf of President Paul Biya. Discussions focused on strengthening police cooperation to combat transnational organized crime, terrorism, and cybercrime.
The visit includes meetings at the INTERPOL regional office for Central Africa, engagements with police leaders from the sub-region, and interactions with students at the National Higher Police School. Philippe is also scheduled to visit technical sites, including the national video surveillance command center and the national passport production center. Cameroon serves as a strategic hub for the organization, hosting the regional office that coordinates actions against cross-border criminal networks.
