Interstate 70 closures planned for Floyd Hill bridge project
The Colorado Department of Transportation has announced several overnight closures on Interstate 70 this month to facilitate work on the $900 million Floyd Hill Project. The construction involves building a cast-in-place segmental bridge, and crews require these closures to establish a protective shield for the work.
An eastbound I-70 closure is scheduled between Exit 241 (Idaho Springs) and Exit 243 (Hidden Valley/Central City Parkway) from 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19. During this time, a detour will be in place, and the eastbound off-ramp at Exit 243 will be closed for approximately four days, ending Oct. 23.
Additionally, two overnight westbound I-70 closures at Exit 244 (U.S. Highway 6) are planned from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on the nights of Oct. 19-20 and Oct. 20-21. All scheduled work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
