INTRANT Opens First Driving License Office in Monte Plata, Dominican Republic

The National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (INTRANT) inaugurated its first driving‑license office in the province of Monte Plata, a facility that will serve roughly 52,800 residents. The new office allows citizens to apply for, renew, or replace licenses—including motorcycle permits—without traveling to other provinces, aiming to save time and improve service efficiency.

The ceremony was led by INTRANT executive director Milton Morrison, provincial civil governor Rafaela Javier Gomera, and Monte Plata mayor Héctor Rafael Figari Moreno. Morrison emphasized the project’s role in expanding the national licensing system and providing a modern, secure document. Governor Gomera highlighted the office as a step toward decentralizing public services and boosting local development.
