Investigation launched into death of Mariame Sylla in Maferinyah
An investigation is underway following the discovery of Mariame Sylla’s body under a bridge in Maferinyah, Guinea. Sylla, an unemployed graduate residing in Conakry, was found with multiple injuries, including wounds to her face that may have been caused by a sharp object.
According to her brother-in-law, Mory Condé, Sylla had traveled to Maferinyah after being invited by her fiancé, Moussa Condé, a soldier stationed in Conakry. He reportedly told her he had secured employment for her at the Moribayah port in Senguelen. Her family lost contact with her after she left Conakry.
Moussa Condé has been detained in Conakry and questioned by investigators as part of the ongoing inquiry to determine the exact circumstances of her death. The victim's body has been transferred to the Coyah prefectural hospital morgue.
