Investigation launched into deaths of elderly man in Ibagué and engineer in Bogotá

Authorities in Colombia are investigating two separate deaths involving suspicious circumstances. In Ibagué, Teodoro Caicedo Díaz, an elderly man, was found dead in a room near Plaza de la 21. Community leaders have raised concerns regarding his living conditions and the management of his monthly pension, which reportedly exceeded 3 million pesos. Questions remain as to who was responsible for collecting his funds and whether he received adequate care.

In Bogotá, the body of 33-year-old systems engineer Fredy Eduardo Blanco Palacios was discovered in the Ciudad Bolívar locality. Blanco had disappeared four days earlier after requesting a ride via a transportation app to return home from his partner's residence. His body showed signs of apparent torture, including tied limbs and wounds from a sharp object. Investigators are reviewing security footage to determine if the incident was a robbery or if the occupants of the residence where he was found were involved.
