Investigation shifts in fatal accident of Dior PR director Mathilde Favier

French authorities are investigating a new lead in the fatal traffic accident involving Mathilde Favier, the public relations director for Dior, and her husband, film producer Nicolas Altmayer. The couple died following a collision with a truck near Thouars in the Deux-Sèvres region.

Initial reports suggested the truck had crossed a continuous line during a maneuver, causing the collision. However, the truck driver, a 32-year-old employee of a Lithuanian transport company, has provided a conflicting testimony to an investigating judge. He claims that the Mini Cooper driven by Altmayer crossed the continuous line and deviated from its lane, striking his vehicle.

Investigations revealed that the driver tested negative for alcohol and drugs, and the truck was not exceeding the speed limit. The Niort prosecutor's office has opened a judicial investigation for involuntary manslaughter to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
