Ioannina Lake Run celebrates 20 years with 7,000 runners
The Ioannina Lake Run recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, drawing over 7,000 participants to the city of Ioannina on September 19 and 20. The event featured 5km, 10km, and 30km routes. In the 30km race, Konstantinos Stamoulis finished first with a time of 1:37:04, while Athanasia Kokkorou won the women's category in 1:50:11, setting a new course record.
Separately, organizers have announced that registrations are now open for the Stymphalia Lake Run 2026. The event is scheduled for October 18, 2026, at Lake Stymphalia and will include 5km, 10km, and half marathon distances. The race is organized by the Municipality of Sikyona, the Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation, and the Sisyphus Athletic Club.
