Ipem-SP detects fraud in dangerous goods transport vehicles
The Institute of Weights and Measures of the State of São Paulo (Ipem-SP) detected fraud during a routine inspection of vehicles transporting dangerous goods at the Malosso Bioenergia plant in Itápolis.
During the operation, officials inspected 15 transport vehicles. Fraud was discovered in two semi-trailer tanks, which had been fitted with internal metallic containers and plastic canisters designed to retain a portion of the product during delivery to buyers. The vehicles were escorted by the Military Highway Police to a regulated workshop in Bauru for decontamination and subsequent inspection, where the fraudulent devices were seized.
Additionally, two tachographs were cited for having expired verification certificates among the 14 units inspected.
