iPhone emergency safety features and settings guide

Apple provides several built-in iOS features designed to assist users during emergencies. Key safety settings include the Medical ID feature within the Health app, which allows users to store critical information such as blood type, allergies, medications, and health conditions. By enabling the ‘Show When Locked’ option, first responders can access this data from the passcode screen without needing to unlock the device.

Users can also designate emergency contacts within the Medical ID settings. These contacts can be notified automatically during events like Crash Detection or through Emergency SOS. Additionally, the ‘Emergency Bypass’ setting allows specific contacts to reach a user even if Focus modes or silent settings are active.
