IPS expands medical services in Encarnación and the Chaco region
The Instituto de Previsión Social (IPS) has implemented several measures to strengthen medical coverage and service availability in Paraguay. In Encarnación, the institution has incorporated 13 new medical professionals across various specialties to reduce wait times and expand coverage. Key additions include a pediatric cardiologist, an imaging specialist, a clinical oncologist, an oncological surgeon, and specialists in gynecology and pediatrics. Additionally, clinical consultations will now be available on Saturdays to increase service availability.
In the Central Chaco region, IPS has formalized multi-year contracts with the Mennonite cooperatives Fernheim, Chortitzer, and Neuland to ensure continued medical services at the Loma Plata, Filadelfia, and Concordia Neuland hospitals. This process involves a maximum budget of G. 48,000 million. The decision follows several months of temporary budget extensions used to prevent service interruptions while the new bidding process was finalized.
