Ipsos Education Monitor reveals global trends in technology and youth welfare
The Ipsos Education Monitor, analyzing attitudes toward education and youth across 31 countries, reveals shifting perspectives on technology and social welfare. A significant majority of respondents support restricting social media access for children under 14, with 73% favoring such measures. Additionally, 59% of those surveyed believe online spaces are unsafe for young people.
Regarding emerging technologies, there is a growing openness toward the use of artificial intelligence in schools, though 39% believe AI should be prohibited in educational settings. Mental health has emerged as a primary concern for youth, cited by 33% of respondents, followed by national economic conditions at 31%.
The study also highlights an optimism gap between different economic regions. While many emerging economies report strong confidence that the next generation will enjoy a better life than their predecessors, this confidence is notably weaker in several mature Western economies.
