iQOO confirms India launch of Z11 Lite while flagship iQOO 16 may be scrapped

iQOO India has officially confirmed that the budget Z-series smartphone Z11 Lite will be launched in the Indian market on July 24. The device is marketed toward students and Gen Z users, with the company’s CEO Nipun Marya describing it as “powered by AI” and “made to stand out.” Key specifications include a 6.74‑inch LCD display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 6,500 mAh battery paired with 44 W fast charging, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300/7500 processor, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, and a dual‑camera setup featuring a 50 MP primary sensor. The phone will be sold online via Amazon India and the official iQOO India store, and pricing is expected to be below ₹20,000, positioning it against other budget offerings from POCO, Samsung, Lava and itel.

Separately, reports indicate that iQOO’s upcoming flagship, the iQOO 16, is likely to be cancelled in India. Rising memory component costs could push the phone’s price beyond ₹85,000, far above the brand’s typical value‑for‑money positioning. As a result, the company appears to be scaling back its Indian roadmap, leaving the Z11 Lite as the sole new Z‑series launch for the year while premium flagship plans are put on hold.
