Iran strikes U.S. bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain with missiles and drones

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and army said they launched coordinated missile and drone attacks on U.S. military facilities in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain. The IRGC claimed to have destroyed a C‑RAM early‑warning radar at Ali Al Salem Air Base and targeted additional assets at Camp Buehring, while the army said drones hit the Al‑Azraq base in Jordan and the Sheikh Isa air base in Bahrain. The strikes were presented as retaliation for recent U.S. air raids on Iranian sites, including a fifth consecutive night of strikes on Bandar Abbas and other coastal installations.

The Iranian forces referenced “Operation Nasr 2” and “Operation Lightning” as the operational framework for the attacks. In parallel, Iran announced it has switched its missile and drone navigation from GPS to China’s Beidou satellite system, which it claims cannot be jammed by Western forces and improves accuracy in the Persian Gulf.

U.S. Central Command confirmed multiple precision‑guided munitions strikes on Iranian targets but did not immediately comment on the Iranian claims. The escalating exchange raises concerns about broader regional conflict and potential disruption to commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
