Iran and Oman negotiate Strait of Hormuz navigation in Tehran

Iranian and Omani foreign‑ministry deputies met in Tehran for two days of talks aimed at coordinating safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The discussions covered technical and political mechanisms for managing vessel traffic and affirmed that, despite regional tensions, shipping through the strait has not been disrupted.

Spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry, Ismail Baghaei, described the meetings as constructive and said progress was made toward a joint operational framework. The talks are part of ongoing dialogue between the two coastal states and come alongside reports that the United States has temporarily halted attacks on Iran, a decision reportedly linked to the Omani delegation’s visit.
