Iran and United States negotiate agreement to halt war in Iran and Lebanon

Iranian strategic adviser Mahdi Mohammadi released an audio briefing describing a draft 14‑point text for a prospective agreement with the United States. He said the draft, though not final, stipulates that the current war must stop on all fronts, including in Iran and Lebanon, and that the United States must commit not to initiate any new military operations.

Mohammadi highlighted that the United States would also bind Israel to the same cessation commitments, marking what he described as a significant shift in U.S. regional strategy. The adviser warned that if the United States fails to honor these obligations, Iran retains tools such as control of the Strait of Hormuz and the option to resume military action. He noted remaining key differences in the text and that the final document is still under negotiation.
