Iran announces 3,261 job openings for persons with disabilities

The State Welfare Organization of Iran has announced the commencement of registration for a specialized recruitment exam for persons with disabilities. Aiming to fulfill the 3 percent employment quota mandated by law, the exam offers 3,261 job opportunities across 32 executive agencies. The Ministry of Education holds the largest share with 1,900 positions, followed by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education with 740, and the State Welfare Organization with 244. Registration is scheduled to take place from September 26 to September 5, 2026, with the written exam set for November 20, 2026.

Concurrently, families of individuals with disabilities, particularly those with autism, have raised significant criticisms regarding the performance of the State Welfare Organization. Reports indicate that many families face severe financial and psychological hardships due to a lack of support for essential services such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, and counseling. There are also ongoing complaints regarding the delayed payment of nursing allowances for individuals with severe disabilities, leaving many families without necessary assistance during critical periods.
