Iran argues war with the United States cannot be ended by negotiation

Two Iranian columnists contend that the conflict between Iran and the United States is rooted in fundamental ideological and strategic differences that cannot be resolved through diplomatic talks alone.

They argue that while negotiations may be used to halt hostilities, they do not address the deeper disputes over power, sovereignty and the global order that drive the war. As one author states, "Negotiation is a tool to end war, not to end the disagreement itself." Both pieces stress that any decision on war, cease‑fire or talks must serve Iran’s national interests and territorial integrity.
