Iran to upgrade missile range and speed following US conflict

The Iranian military has announced a decision to upgrade its entire missile arsenal, focusing on increasing the range and speed of its ballistic and cruise missiles. Iranian Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia stated that these measures are a direct response to the presence of US forces within 1,000 kilometers of the Iranian coast.

Akraminia noted that recent combat experiences demonstrated the effectiveness of Iranian weaponry, specifically citing ground-to-ground missiles used against US bases in Kuwait and naval cruise missiles used against enemy vessels. The upgrade program aims to improve both the speed and the precision of future missile generations to ensure more effective targeting.

In a parallel diplomatic context, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that there is no military solution to the conflict with the United States, advocating for negotiations based on justice and equity. Meanwhile, Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf indicated that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed unless Tehran's seven conditions, established in a June provisional agreement, are met by Washington.
