Iranian Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami has declared that Iran will defend the Strait of Hormuz with full force, calling the waterway a critical strategic asset for ending regional hostilities.

Hatami asserted that the United States has been effectively expelled from the region and that US military bases in neighboring countries will not be permitted to return to their former status.
