Iran attacks US Patriot system in Kuwait amid escalating US‑Iran tensions

Iran's military announced that it used unmanned aerial vehicles to strike a U.S. Patriot air‑defence installation in Kuwait, part of a broader campaign that also targeted a satellite‑based early‑warning station in Qatar and a U.S. fuel depot in Bahrain. Kuwait’s forces reported intercepting a cruise missile, three ballistic missiles and ten drones, with one civilian injured by falling debris.

The strike follows a series of U.S. operations that President Donald Trump warned could be followed by additional attacks that night, including threats to destroy Iranian power plants, desalination facilities and the oil‑export hub on Kharg Island. Iranian officials responded by vowing retaliation and stating they were prepared to confront any U.S. aggression.
