Iran automotive market faces price volatility amid currency shifts
The Iranian automotive market is experiencing significant price volatility. While the intensity of recent price surges has moderated, vehicle costs remain at high levels. Factors driving these fluctuations include the rising prices of gold and foreign currency, specifically the dollar reaching 227,000 tomans, as well as increased costs related to vehicle supply, fuel, and registration fees.
Specific domestic models have seen notable shifts. The Soren Plus dual-fuel (large tank) has increased by 390 million tomans since early September, reaching 2.4 billion tomans. The Dena Plus 6-speed also rose by 50 million tomans over three days to 2.445 billion tomans. Conversely, the Quik S zero-kilometer model saw a 15 million toman decrease this week, settling at 1.414 billion tomans.
Market experts suggest that while a massive price jump may be unlikely before the end of September, continued currency growth combined with supply constraints could lead to significant price increases during the autumn season.
