Iran automotive market shows mixed price trends

The Iranian automotive market experienced inconsistent price movements on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Following a period of significant increases, the market showed mixed results with some domestic and assembled models rising in price while others declined.

Key price shifts included the Shahin Automatic Plus seeing a decrease of 22 million tomans, and the Tara Automatic increasing by 30 million tomans. The Soren Plus dual-fuel model also saw a reduction of 17 million tomans. Conversely, the Dena Plus 6-speed manual increased by 10 million tomans.

Market experts attribute these fluctuations to several factors, including rising costs related to vehicle supply, increased gasoline prices, and registration expenses. Currency exchange rate volatility remains a critical driver of market expectations, though experts note that the impact of dollar fluctuations on car prices often appears with a delay. While a sharp price surge is considered unlikely before the end of September, there is a possibility of significant increases in the autumn if current supply constraints and currency trends persist.
