Iran blames U.S. for breaching joint accord and escalates military pressure

Iranian senior official Mojtaba Hamedani issued a written statement asserting that the United States has repeatedly violated the June 17 memorandum of understanding that was meant to end hostilities, rendering President Donald Trump's signature on the agreement null and void. He warned that the Iranian people and the resistance front will give the United States a lesson it will not forget.

President Trump said American forces are achieving "great successes" in Iran, citing recent air strikes that hit bridges and a maritime traffic‑control tower in the Chabahar area. The strikes are intended to pressure Tehran to ease the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. A White House spokesperson reiterated that U.S. forces do not target civilian structures and that diplomatic talks with Iran are ongoing.
